Nut-Crusted Black Cod

Sweet, salty, nutty and flaky - this is one of my favourite ways to enjoy a flaky white fish.

Ingredients:

Black cod filet (or any flaky fish of your choice)
1/2 cup mixed nuts
1 tsp chilli flakes
2 tbsp honey mustard (or grainy mustard of your choice)
Olive oil

Directions:

  1. Grind up mixed, toasted nuts

  2. Combine nuts and chilli flakes, place in shallow bowl or tray

  3. Coat fish in mustard

  4. Dip fish into nut mixture, making sure there's a thick coating

  5. Heat pan on high. Add olive oil, reduce to medium.

  6. Once oil is hot, carefully add fish. Nut side down. Reduce to medium-low.

  7. Flip fish once nuts are toasted. You will know because the fish/nuts coating won't stick to the pan when you attempt to flip it. About 3 minutes*.

  8. Finish with the skin side down until crispy. About 2 minutes*.

*times depend on thickness of fish
